Hi.
I was contacted by a law office who claimed to be representing Getty Images' delegate in Israel, demanding me to pay a huge sum of money under the claim of "illegal usage of Getty images". I made a personal none-commercial usage in the images in question, where I attached them to personal articles and blog posts. I found these images using Google, in websites that did not indicate any need for a license for such usage, especially that the images I made use of, are of a small quality and file size. There is also no evidence at all that these images came from Getty images as they were not watermarked with any mark that indicated so.
To sum up, these were images found via Google, with no indication that they are a property of getty images, and I made no commercial use at all with them. Is this still a violation ?
How can I undermine their claim ? and on what can I base my response to it ?
Pleas help me.. I need to work for 20 years to collect the money they are trying to charge me with !!
