Now that Blu-ray is popular does that mean I have to throw away all my regular DVD's?

I just bought Elizabeth the Golden Age on regular DVD, does that mean I have to throw it out just to keep up with Blu-ray, cus' I can't keep throwing stuff out every 2-5 years just to keep up with the latest entertainment systems, it's just not fair!
 
NO! your dvd, player still works,
and im pretty sure the blu ray player plays dvds too.
