Hi everyone,

first of all sorry for my english, i'm belgian and as you see, my english is not really good.

Well, i'm a nurse (a male nurse :D) and here in Belgium I worked many years in hospitals, retirement homes, home care... During my few years experience I noticed that patients are unfortunatly unequal in the health system. Many nurses refuses to provide care to HIV patients and not only in hospitals but even at home. So I project to create a foundation (or a charity i'm not sure for the name in the UK) here in Belgium to collect founds for AIDS research and to provide home care to HIV patients. Here in Belgium, home care are funded by the health system but not at 100% so patients have to pay a part of the costs. It's not really expansive when you need home care for a few weeks but for many years care it's not always easy. For HIV patients it's even worst because they're often alone and they don't work (unfortunatly many employers discriminate them). So my project is to collect funds to pay their care costs (material, care..) and if I collect more money, it will be donate to AIDS research. I also project to find nurses that accept to work with HIV patients so I will be able to provide them quality care and help them.

So here is my question, after my project here in Belgian I'd like to do the same in other countries like UK and I want to know how the home care "works" in UK. Home care are they free or the patient have to pay a part of the costs like in Belgium?

Thank you all for your help it's really important for me. I know some of you will ask me why to ask these informations about UK if my Belgian project is not done yet, but it's important for me to know if it's possible to do it in England because it will affect my foundation name choice.

Thank you!!!!
