I recently put in a whole new exhaust system, headers back, on my 1993 Honda Del sol Si d16z6. Got new cat, and cat back. The old system had an O2 sensor hooked up right before the cat. (mind you there is also one on the headers that is in place and functioning) The cat that was on there was a universal and had been installed rather hastily. When I removed the old system, the O2 sensor had one wire and wasn't hooked up to anything! Shouldn't it be 4 wires?
In the new cat, there is a spot for an O2 sensor right after the cat, easy to get to, easy to install.... but I don't know where to plug the new sensor in.
Is running it without a downstream sensor bad for the engine in some way and will I pass emissions testing?
I would like to get a new sensor in place because Ii know they came that way stock.
Any help on locating the plug would be very helpful. Thanks
