So the other day I saw this lift truck with street tires in the front and mud tires in the back... At first I thought it was a great idea if you have a 2wd truck cause you could have grip off road but still be quite on the road... So my questian is, does this work, is it common and why have I only seen one truck with it?

Call him cheap / It's insignificant like a high contrast shirt with boxes and a corduroy pair of pants.
Snow tires and slash wearing NIKESS!!!!!!

no.
1st because you have street tires on the front doesn't mean the rears wont be LOUD

2nd I could see it working but you would need a 2whl drive truck and what is the point of taking a 2 wheeler muddin? getting the nose stuck and winching out? Not practical because street tires dont clear mud as well as mud tires.

3rd If the street tires are the same size as the mud tires it would work but it would be like bringing a pocketknife to battle samurais. no dice.

He probably didnt have the money for the other 2 tires and was waiting a week or two before going back for the other pair.

My truck is the same way but its because the tires are so expensive I couldn't afford to get all four. Now as far as noise goes it doesn't matter if you have only 2 or all 4 you will still have noise no matter what
