Ok...i have a 2005 Pontiac g6 gt and when i try to start it nothing happen.?

No dash lights come on and no electrical equipment turn on.
also my transmission is acting up before that.when i put it in reverse it doesnt move and when i put it in neutral its stuck in 1st gear and moves forward.


i was wondering if my transmission might be why nothing works or is there a bigger problem?....

any suggestions and answers are welcome
