Ok im planning on buying a hummer H3 2008 cos of my growing family?

but im getting the one thats not fully optional (no screen,navigation,not leather seats etc) so does it have child safety locks? what are the pros and cons? Is there another model SUV around the same price range thats better? keeping in mind the hummer has a discount on it being last years model.
i would appreciate some useful answers
