so I'm trying to hook up my old pioneer vsx-d458 for 5.1 surround sound. the only connections it has are the red, white and yellow ones and 4 black ones that look like the red, white and yellow ones. i think the black is for digital but I'm not positive. is it the same as the orange? are there certain cables i need or can i use the orange or yellow one on the composite(yellow red and white) cable. also the black ones are labeled front, back, center and sub woofer so do i need all 4 to get 5.1? I'm trying to hook up a ps3 and possibly a comcast hd receiver
i could find the manual anywhere

What are you trying to hook up, you did not really explain what you are connecting. You can go online to Pioneer and download the owners manual to provide you the instruction on connecting speakers and other equipment to your receiver. Composite cable (red, white and yellow) is for connecting your VCR or dvd player (yellow for the video and red and white for the audio) coming from you source to the receiver. Speakers are connected from the binding post of the receiver to each individual speakers (they should be mark on the back to what speaker they go to). Hope this will help you out.
