india has no support for its athletes. sushil kumar doesnt even have a decent training centre (compared to wrestlers internationally) to train in and has to pay for all his own supplements yet he's India's best athlete at the moment.
once athletes retire they aren't offered jobs in the coaching sector cos india has none.
there was a film on it the lack of support:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paan_Singh_Tomar_(film)
at the end of the movie it highlighted that some indian athletes, even a seven time gold hockey champion died young, poor, alone and without medal care because they they get no support, attention or opportunities after they retire.
I really enjoyed this event. However, I am very dis-heart when I listened about Ye Shiwen doping suspicions at the end of this event. But one of my friends told me that yet Le never tested positive and she was vociferous in defending her astounding speed.
