My fish is laying on the bottom of his tank breathing kind of fast! and sometimes i will go shake his tank a little bit and he moves with it and he moves easily his eyes are moving around sometimes and are wide open! What should i do My grandma said to put salt on his lower back or tail but he is too low and i don't want to pick him up with his net when he is feeeling like this! It is my fault Because i don't feed him! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ANY BAD COMMENTS! I am afraid of basements and my sister always leaves the beta food down stairs and i just i dont know any more! I know i did the wrong thing but if he could make it and not die i would treat him like gold! Help any ideas to bring him back before he dies!? :'(

Tell your sister to get the food, and feed him, and consistently feed him. It's YOUR fault, YOU remedy it. Otherwise, don't get a fish. It's simple as that. If you're going to be irresponsible, you don't deserve a pet.

quickly put food in his tank and help him get to it. maybe he will eat it and get some energy to live a little longer for you to keep feeding him and then get better. Im sorry to say that he might die but its very possible to keep him alive. just feed him and then once he is better you can treat him like gold as you say. x]
EDIT: im afraid of basements too so dont feel too bad

bettas arent real active to begin with. just make sure that his water was treated with water conditioner. bettas need to be fed about every other day. they dont really eat a whole lot either. if your worried about it you should go down to a local pet store and buy some betta fix. they are medicated drops that also lower his stress level. dont put salt on him and dont shake him. you want to cause him as little stress as possible.

This is a sign of severe malnutrition/starvation. Try to feed him. Be prepared that he may already be too far gone :(
