On a 3 yr Contract w/ Telus. Can I transfer my account from one phone to another?

I have the LG Chocolate but just purchased a Blackberry Pearl 8100 from a friend and it is the telus model. Im on a family plan and don't want to change any of my rates to an expensive blackberry rate. Can I just transfer the LG Chocolate Account onto a Pearl Phone?
