On cruise with my family, turned out surreal, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

I went on a cruise with my family, and my mother told me that I could see the captain of the ship. I was very excited so made my way up to see the captain. I was so excited because I knew I could hold the wheel of the ship, but when I got there, what I saw was crazy, I saw Micky mouse steering the ship WTF!? A guy in a mickey mouse costume steering the ship and whistling away, and tapping his feet, like he was out of steamboat willy. He waved to me, but all I could do is step slowly back away, and run back to my room. Under my bed covers, my mother came in and said "Did you have a good time with the captain?" I said "Yes mom, yes...a good time" she would not believe me anyway. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
