theirs different onces but thats one of them what are they called?? remember im talking about that engine looking thing on top of the hood

They might have a dual carburetor intake manifold with two carbs or a "blower" more properly called and "supercharger". Since superchargers are super expensive, what you most often see is a dual carb set up with the air scoop sticking through the hood.

Good Luck!

You are seeing the top of a roots style supercharger.

Put very simply a supercharger is a belt driven compressed that can force a large volume of air under pressure into the engine. The more air that you can force into an engine the more fuel can be added. The larger the amount of fuel and air that can be ignited in the combustion chamber of the engine during each combustion cycle the more power the engine makes.

What you are seeing there is a heavily modified race car with a supercharger installed.
