on my iphone 4g if i turn off the 3g and cellular data does it still cost me

money to use free wifi? i have to figure this out. because i use my moms iphone a lot and i have internet connection at my house so i just turn off the 3g and cellular data and start using the internet. i need to find out if this still costs money.
 
If you turn on the wifi on the phone and connect it to the wifi you should be ok
 
It shouldn't cost you any money to do this. Turning off those two settings you mentioned just means that you wouldn't be able to do anything online until you turn them back on again. You can even use your Wifi without turning off those settings and the battery life should still be fine.
