We have 4 laptops connected to a Netgear wireless router. They used to all work fine but now just 3 of them work ok, the 4th connects to the router but is unable to access the internet with any programs. All laptops are running Windows XP.
We don't have a separate modem.
The 4th laptop is definitely connected to our router. It has a strong signal and says 'connected'. This laptop is also able to use the internet when connected to other wireless routers.

One thing no one else mention was to check to make sure you are connecting to your wireless access point. It is possible that you are connecting to some one else's access point. On the router itself, check the security settings and DHCP client addresses that it will issue. You may have too many PCs trying to access too few addresses. You can also check for a client list that will show you all computers connected to the router. This can help with identifying and system that should not be there. Good luck.

Check to make sure the one laptop has the wireless on. If it does then look at the right bottom of the taskbar and find the wireless icon. It should be either two monitors linked or one. You can just pass the cursor over the different icons. When you find it then it should show you your strneth of a signal. Double click it and click on where it says search for wireless networks. If yours is not highlighted then double click on it and click on connect. You may have connected to a neighbors wireless and it's not very strong.

Good Luck!!!

Try restarting, then check the internet switch on the side is on (i accidently turned this off before) erm, put it in range of the router...i cant think of any other reasons, but i hope it works soon =]

Do this in this order.
1 unplug the wireless
2 unplug any other router between the wireless router and the modem
3 unplug the modem
Wait about 45 seconds then plug then back in in the reverse order as below:
1 plug in modem
2 plug in anything between wireless and modem
3 plug in wireless

This will reset the connection and should help. If it does not help let me know and I can walk you through troubleshooting it.
