I've had one cat for the past 1 and a half years and he has been the most perfect cat ever apart from a little neediness. We recently adopted another cat from a shelter that is attempting to kill off all the animals in its care. Both are around 5 years old
The initial introductions went okay but not great, but as expected. The existing cat stood its ground and hissed but no fights occurred, and after 2 days of initial hiding the new cat has come out and seems really interested in the existing cat and just seems to want to be friendly and either casually looks for him or sits indifferently in a seemingly submissive way. The existing cat is still hissing however; but not chasing or attacking.
We also recently found a patch of urine on our bed and do not know if it was our existing cat or the new cat, both are neutered males. I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again and am staring to get worried. Should I be or does it sound like it will work out?
