I am planning on buying 1 truck and 1 trailer after the first of the the year. My question is this. If I purchase 1 truck and 1 trailer and I am the only employee of my company, do I need to rent an office? I guess I need to check with the local chamber of commerce or the insurance company that will cover my business. I am just looking at cutting costs and if I can have a home office and keep the paperwork in a filing cabinet at home for a few months then it would save me a lot of money since I plan on working with out credit. My truck and trailer will be paid for in cash. I can park my truck and trailer at one of the local truck stops during the periods of time I am home. This will be a trucking company with a class 8 semi. Please don't respond unless you have personal knowledge of how trucking companies start up and run on a daily basis. Also my home is within the city limits i don't know if that will make a difference as well.
