problem using a wiring schematic? Just recently our airbag light started flashing. There has not been any damage to the vehicle. Is there a way to diagnose where the problem originates if you have a wiring diagram?

The dealer wants $130 just to find where the problem is and then repair is extra on top of that.

Having worked with car electronics I'll recommend you to take it to the dealer because it's EXTREMELY complicated to look for a solution with the wiring diagram. Don't even try to fix it because you don't even know what the problem is. One thing you can do is to take it to autozone or any other car parts store. Tell them about your problem and they might be able to help you out for cheaper or free by scanning your car with and OBD (on board diagnostics) tool. This will tell them exactly what the error code is.

I doubt that the OBD II scanners at Auto Zone are capable of reading codes for the SRS AirBag system. You need a Nissan dealers Consult II scanner to diagnose that system. Wiring diagrams are no help, SRS problems are usually air bags with intermittent open circuits or the steering wheel clock spring. Don't use a VOM on the SRS system or you will set off the air bags and end up with $2,000 or more in replacement costs.
