...dogs, what can I do? Our neighbors are a couple who appear as though they would have been (and probably were) very popular in the 60's. They are quiet, keep to themselves, and have been extraordinarily accommodating to the fact that my husband and I have five dogs and are, in general, very nice people. BUT, we CAN'T do anything about the dogs barking when we first let them out/bring them back in. Our patio's are about 25 feet apart from one another and last night (at 1:30 a.m. - David and I were still celebrating Valentines day, listening to music with the dogs on the patio) one of the two of them came over, pounded on our door, and when my husband and I opened it, very curious who it could be at that time, he (the husband of the couple) WENT OFF on us. I mean he glared at me as if I had horns coming out of my head.
Again, you guys, I understand they have a right, but don't we?
The dogs ONLY bark (again) upon coming or going from the patio.
Do WE have any rights, too?
I feel bad about this, but I love my dogs like children. We've been living in this place for four years and they were already living in their house when we moved in. This problem has only recently begun, but I fear it's going to get worse.
We can't afford to move.
What can we do?
Everyone, so far, is so right. I work until 12:00 a.m., and I guess David and I just need to find a way to work around that schedule while still being considerate to our neighbor's. We really weren't trying to be rude. :(
