pandoras battery for psp slim, help!?

ok i bought a Pandora battery for my psp slim and when i put it in its suppose to go to this menu thing but for some reason it stays a black screen.

can someone tell me why this is because im thinking of trading my slim in for a phat because i really wanna do the custom firmware thing so yeah please help me.

Ohkay you need a magic memory stick
you can easily google something like magic memory stick creator or something andd yeah

u put the mem stik in u keep the L button pressed n put ur battery in
n some menu will come up
thats how i did for my phat andd it worked so good luck
