Paranormal?

You know, I'm not sure I can even describe it. Not trying to be melodramatic but anything I say always comes out wrong whenever I try. The impression I got was it was very very old and alot meaner than me but not a ghost or something like that. It just made it very clear we weren't going to be buddies.

Did you feel physically threatened or was it an impression of unpleasantness? IE was it looking to smack you up right there or did it just not like you?

Mitch

A lot is very simple. People seeing faces/figures is just the brain making recogniseable shapes out of other things that have come together in a chance arrangement.

My story is a bunch of people int their early 20s doing stuff they know their own parents would not approve of and then projecting those feelings whilst under the influence.

None of this invalidates the experience of the individual, just provides another way of looking at it. I think the human brain does this quite often. It works with cultural/linguistic/visual images and "discovers" them in everyday experience. You can look at everything from poetry to meditation to "getting in the zone" in the same light.

Bear's experiences and towers of building blocks may be different however.

Oh it wanted me dead, I am absolutely convinced of that. Twice I got in my car and drove like the hounds of hell were on my ass. Once I ran like a whipped dog. A should also mention I wasn't alone on two of those encounters and we all legged it and we don't ever talk about it.

I've travelled pretty far and wide a been in some damn weird places but never encountered anything like it. I still don't believe in the paranormal.

And was it a physical thing that you saw clearly, the impression of a shape, or the impression of intent?

Mitch

I'd have to agree with all of this. And I think there are probably things that live out away from humanity for a reason. Maybe it's crazy people, maybe it's something else. Either way, I'm okay with leaving them to their business.

i'm curious. do you know of anyone else beyond your company at those times who describes something similar, or know of anything similar enough to it that's part of, say, cryptozoology or urban legends?

That sakki stuff is just so nonsense though, clearly

Mitch

An interview with a famous author I once read:
"Do you believe in extraterrestrial intelligence?"
"Exclusively."

Check your local myths and paranormal hunters pages. Maybe you'll luck out. You could also head over to Clava Cairns for a look-see. I, however, have no problem with leaving Bear's friend alone. It sounds very grumpy.

Hahaha.

No thank you, if paranormal wants any part of me it can bloody well come over here and find me.

Seriously though, I heard of people having weird dreams and visions but myself zero, zip, nada. And quite frankly, I put very little stock in "paranormal hunters." Guess being religious is as irrational as I'm comfortable getting.

There are strange things out in the world that fall into the natural category. The NS being one of them.

If people experiencing ghosts and creatures out in ancient burial sites are happening, it's still natural. Maybe it's the brain playing tricks, maybe it's crazy people in outfits made from roadkill. No matter what it is, I figure it's still part of the world around us, and that makes it natural in my book.

Hmm, you see this is the problem. I'm not sure, I think I saw it but I don't entirely trust my senses. I have a fair idea how human brain pattern recognition works and I'm not sure whether I was creating an image or whether I was actually seeing it. It's why I don't entirely believe the experience and why I don't get all spooked out by it. My rational mind refuses to accept it. I go back up to the Cairns every now and again but not met it recently.

Only other person I've ever met who wasn't with me was Koyo. He described it as something very evil. I don't particularly like the term. He said that it was very like the feeling he got when he went to visit Auswitch. I've never been so I can't comment.

Funnily enough...

These days priests specializing in exorcisms mostly send people to psychiatrists before attempting anything themselves. Even demons take a backseat to mental problems it seems.

Well possession is very culture centric so you can be reasonably sure it's psychological.
