Paranormal?

I've experienced that one too. You were dreaming. On a related note if I over sleep when I should be getting up for work I hear my dads voice shouting my name. And I live alone. So that wakens me up pretty quickly.

Laying there in the pitch dark can cause you to hallucinate and it can cause your hearing sensitivity to go nuts and ramp right up. How thick are the walls in your flat/house?

I've had it where I was momentarily convinced a shadowy figure (like the aliens from Attack the block) was coming through the bedroom door.
Fair woke the missus up when I eventually convulsed myself out of that little dream.

They're not very thick, to be honest. But I sleep up in the attic, and never hear a peep out of the neighbours on any side of me, because I don't think any of them sleep that high up.

Actually, this "voices in the dark" thing has reminded me of a similar thing.

After a particularly bad break from the (with hindsight) crazy ex, I resolved to get over her by, erm, well, erm, seeing some loose women... I was alone in my room, in that state between sleeping and awake when I swore I heard a voice saying "Dont do it, don't do it"...

I did it anyway...

What theeeeeeeeeeee? I actually married someone who is too good for me.

There's a radio show here called Night Owls hosted by Alan Robson who enjoys the ghosties so much he's written books and broadcasted from haunted locations. Anyway, one show he played audio from people who set up recorders in the living room, for example, and played back what they recorded.

Mostly it was doors closing or footsteps, which, could be someone going to the toilet. However, one tape was someone screaming and screaming and screaming. After research, the person who sent the tape in, claimed that someone died in a fire in the room they set up the recording equipment...

Freaky. Wouldn't mind randomly snapping some digital pics in a place like that. Weird story... I was doing that once, got some of those light globe thingys, laughed a bit, snapped more pics, and the camera fried from the inside and left smoke behind the lens. It killed the memory card too.

Guess the light globes were some sort of electrical failure inside the camera that got transposed on the image, or something...

Of course, that might also be what I get for being a pain in the butt. I didn't do it with the repacement camera, though.

No idea, but I've read theories that ghosts aren't actually "sentient" if that's the word I'm looking for, but an imprint left in the atmosphere that under the right circumstances some people can "see" them. Kind of like looking at a past event but not interacting with it.

@Fu_Bag, I have plenty of photos where we are surrounded by orbs...

Yeah I've heard those theories as well. If that were true I'd bet good money it's some sort of quantum event. Which will then be exploited to invent time travel.

Firstly, those are hooks to encourage ovulation. Secondly, they're not that plentiful on cats (compared to cactuses). Thirdly, stop reading the Red Dwarf books.
