So I went out on a 1st date with a guy i met recently to a big carnival in our city. We are not "hooked up" as in bf/gf, but he was holding my hand a majority of the time..Either that or he had his arm around me(which is normal) but the holding hands was different...what does this mean?
 
It means he likes you of course and he's affectionate. There's nothing wrong with it its not like he tried to make out with you. I've heard of lots of people cuddling on a first date.

Sex on a first date is a DEFINITE "no" though, that would be disgusting. along with making out on a first date.
 
It means he likes you and wanted to hold you. I don't think it was cool for a guy to have his arm around you and holding your hand on the first date but I may be a little old fashioned.
 
you can make your judgement what is normal and abnormal in the relationship.
