Peter jackson directing the hobbit or not?

I have been google'ing this forever and i have finally found some sites that say Peter Jackson is actually directing the Hobbit. If this is true i will be so freaking happy! its like a gaurentee good movie. Does anyone actually know if he is, and is the answer up to date? post a video, or TRUSTED article if you know
