Phone Interferes with Music...?

I have a Nokia 6275 (this phone here if the link works http://www.nokia.ca/link?cid=EDITORIAL_328675 ). It's an alright phone and all, but when I'm listening to music on my computer or on my MP3 player (a completely separate device, not a player on the phone), whenever I get a text it interferes with the music. I asked the guy at the store why and he said it was just because of the 3g network...but I'm not sure how safe this is...is it radiation that is causing this or what??

If someone could clear this up, that would be great.
