Pierced Cartilage rumors?

So i want to get my cartilage pierced, but i have heard rumors about it. I hear that there are veins in that part of your ear that lead to your brain and if you puncture them it effects you brain. Is this true? Also, what is it called when you get your ear pierced like under your cartilage? Like on the side of your ear?
Haha, yes i know i sound stupid asking these questions...
 
you can shatter cartilage especially if you do it yourself. and i agree, its tacky and bogan. it doesn't look good. if you really want a piercing there, just go buy a cuff. that way you don't have to pierce it.
 
It really depends on where you mean specifically. there are obviously veins and nerves in there, but you can pierce anywhere on your ear. As long as you make sure to go to a professional they can pierce anywhere you want and not fuck up your ears, or brain for that matter. Don't worry about that tacky comment either. it's your body and your self expression, do what is beautiful through your eyes.
