According to the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary, the definition of nature is; the external world in its entirety. Clearly, when most people think about nature, they picture giant green leafy trees, animals roaming through a large forest or jungle with luscious green grass, birds chirping, and the wonderful smell of fresh clean air. Others, however, might picture nature as creepy bugs, annoying loud sounds, dirt, and dangerous animals that lurking around waiting to prey upon them. In the reading “The Trouble with Wilderness,” by William Cronon, he clearly states that nature is not how we perceive it, in fact, how we “imagine” nature to be, is what blocks us from seeing how it actually is.
