In the future im going to buy a boat and a truck....i am looking at the trucks first....i have been a chevy/gmc guy my whole life....im just debating on whcih truck...the 1500, 2500, or 3500...the boat is around 40-45 ft. but idk if the trucks are powerrful enough to move it....help me with some information please

If your boat is 40-45 ft in length, it won't matter what truck you get. You won't be able to tow it yourself. It'll have to be a professional mover with chase vehicles to move something that large. The width of the boat CANNOT exceed 10' for any road with special permits. Plus something that big is going to far exceed what a 3500 can safely pull even with the Duramax engine and Allison tranny. Special trailers for a 40' boat is going to be impossible to use without a tractor truck. I don't know what kind of boat you thinking of, but in that size range a cruiser style boat weights (empty) 38,000 pounds without the trailer added in. A go fast boat (Fountain) will still be in the 16,500 pound range(empty, no fuel).
