My son took his cat to the vet today ,coz it kept peeing. Turns out it had cistitis. Vet gave him antibiotics, (via injection) for an infection ( which the cats had before), they took the cat to the car, & found he had died...Vet said it was shock from an allergic reaction. How can this be when the cats had antibiotics in the past, with no problem. Is there anything they can do. They are both devistated. I saw this cat at 12 noon today & he was fine, apart from the peeing

That is unfortunate but I don't think there is anything you can do legally, they agreed to the treatment.

I'm sorry that your son lost his cat today. But I think the best way to get to the bottom of this is to get a second opinion, if possible to take the body to another vet and request a post-mortem exam. I don't know enough about allergic reactions, but I do know that cystitis can kill a cat in a matter of hours (a friend of mine lost her cat that way).
