In the waking life, my father is very abusive and a dead beat to me growing up.

I've moved out and no longer talk to him. Depending how long since I've last seen him, my dreams get more pleasant and in my dream, he's a perfect father. He's supportive, loving and proud of me. But that only happens if I haven't seen him in months.

But I come home once in a long while to visit my mother who lives with him, and bad dreams come immediately that night if I see him.

But give it 2 months and my dreams immediately becomes better,

WHY?

When growing up you probably wanted that perfect father that wasn't abusive. Who doesn't want that, right? Well so in your dreams that's what you think your father should be like. Since you know what hes really like when you do see him all your bad memories come back.

So first you get these bad dreams from seeing him cause you know how he really is. Then once you haven't seen him in a while you start to dream better things about him. Why you ask? It's because that's how you wanted your father to be.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

maybe he is abusive but at the same time, he is actually a kind person.

OR

your mind believes that there is a good side in him, and one day he will become a better father.

OR

Your mind wishes that your father was perfect

Alot of reasons behind that...i will give you some crazy ones...You only dream him being perfect because thats what you want so you unconscious wants you to believe it...maybe after the dreams and when your a wake sometimes the dreams feeling like memories when you think about them.... The guy was the dark side of your like of course when you see his face your going to relive it through memories or dreams...only one question..do you talk to people about this guy?..if you don't then you should..if you do then maybe its you that still holds the past because you hate to forget it or something...im just blowing smoke..i have a lot more but too long
