Plzzz help! Motorola Quench and 3G - don't know how to exit?

Ok, I feel stupid asking this, but I just got this phone today and it does so much stuff and I don't know how a lot of it works. I recall the salesgirl telling me that if it says 3G on the top of my display then that means I'm on the internet, but I can't figure out how to exit it. Can somebody please help? Thanks so much!!
