Fed, when one uses the phrase "think outside the box" it is usually contraindicative
 
I don't think this is true at all. Scientists are often portrayed as liberals because of pro-choice science research, but I am a scientist and more of them are actually conservative. There is a great link between Sci-Fi and science just because it encompasses the same interest. Therefore, the Sci-Fi genre is liked by both sides. (I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!)

As much as I am not, it's because they are creative, and can think outside the box, they don't need to be told what to think, say or do.

Educated people tend to think more outside the box and embrace science.
