POP QUIZ:
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is perfectly capable of doing functions and calculations that this component does. As a matter of fact, that used to be part of the CPU's job. Most of the older computers (pre-486) were sold without this component. So the CPU had to process all the computer's hardware and software functions, handle all interrupt requests, and direct all information and data, as well as performing all floating point calculations.

State the given name of the component that is described and list at least two of their major manufacturers ?

(Please post your sources to prove you typed it and did not just c&p.)
(Quality over quantity.) Winner will be the most accurate and descriptive answer.

Good Luck!!!
Why not allow c&p?
Because, Like in school, it is against the rules to COPY!!!
My quiz, My rules. Don't like it then I ask you to refrain from participating.
Leaves the points for others who agree to only 1 rule.
