porsche 944 won't start only makes "click" noise?

I just got a 1985 Porsche 944 from a lady. She said it has been sitting for about 8 mths. I have not really had much time to mess with it. I have tried jump starting it and even put the battery on a charger and it still only "clicks" when I try to start it.
 
Try a different battery, if not trying lightly hitting the starter with a hammer.
