port forwarding bittorrent made it slower?

i tried port forwarding using this guide http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ADDON/WBR9200/BitTorrent.htm but since, my torrent dl speeds have decreased MASSIVELY. I'm using an ADDON WBR9200 wireless router

could anyone tell me the correct way to forward my ports as i think what i did before was incorrect somewhere

Your ISP is throttling that port. Do the instructions again but instead of 6800, use 16800. Put a one in front of the port number the instructions tell you to use.
