Predictions about aliens?

If there is ever going to be a real alien invasion, when do you think it is going to take place, how, and why?

Might take place in 2012-first alien arrival on earth.
Aliens will teach us how to live properly and build a spaceship that can leave out galaxy and enter others.
why?- our world is corrupted and the aliens are here to help civilize us.

No there is not.

They either don't exist at all, or exist so far away that there is no way we can ever confirm that they do exist. Either way we are alone.

Earth has nor been invaded anytime in the last ten thousand years. There is no evidence that it has ever been invaded. Why should it be invaded now just because Hollywood makes movies on the subject. Do you expect New York to be attacked by King Kong (a giant ape) any time soon?

Even if aliens did exist, they would have to have "impossible" propulsion technology to be able to come here. If they had "impossible" propulsion technology, they must also have other impossible technology. They could create life forms in their own solar system, and would have no need to ever leave their home system.

Finally, such advanced species would not distinguish between us and the other mammals on Earth. The only difference between us and the other mammals is a speach centre, an opposable thumb and on average a slightly larger brain. hardly reason to cross trillions of miles of space when there are already plenty of mammals right there on your home planet.

Cheers!

It is my feeling that any life form that can travel amongst the star would not have hostile intents against anything. For humanity, it hasn't matured to that point; the people of Earth have a long ways to go.

No one can know the answer to that question.

We don't yet know if interstellar travel is possible in practice.

Assuming, from the question, that an alien invasion were to occur...

(Also, heavily relying on the use of the word "invasion" assuming that it occurs "in force" and not at our invitation)

I have two ideas. (And one subset)

1 - The alien race grew in a manner similar to life on earth, and ultimately the most aggressive and capable race became the dominant species on their planet. Assuming space is "mostly" empty and this race has the option to choose where they're going, since there is very little reason for them to come to earth (given the choice of going /anywhere/ in space)*, they're probably xenophobic and just think that they're better off without us around.

1b - The alien race believes that the major holy person of their religion has something to do with Jerusalem, and so has come to fight over it too.

2 - The alien race exists in a way that we don't readily perceive. Perhaps some kind of interdimensional intelligent fungus. It "invades" earth (and may actually jointly exist within our bodies) without us ever even knowing it.
