Press selling doom along with America's future?

Politics of fear has no boundaries. The press had to do this in order to allow an unread historic bill quick unfettered passage.

Is it just me or has the fickle press just abandoned their love affair with the president to go back into bed with doomsday stories?

"Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Stay tuned for the news at 11:00! Don't invest in American institutions, America is doomed!"

Does the American press suffer from a bad case of Tourette's or are they like junkies who need their fix today and willing to throw away tomorrow?
