I have Thunderbird version 2.0.0.12 (20080213) and Firefox version 2.0.0.12. My ISP is Yahoo. Until recently things have been going fine but over the last few weeks I have had increasing problems sending "reply" messages. At first it happened sporadically and if I waited for a while and tried sending the email later it would work. Over the last few days, however, I simply cannot send a "reply" message to anyone. Yet if I type my answer into a new email (rather then clicking "reply") the system sends it without problem even though it is to the same exact email address that was coming up when I was clicking "reply". What could the problem be and how can I fix it? The error messages I get are first "address not verified" (which doesn't make sense since the system accepts the very same address when I put it in a new email) and then "verify your SMTP setting” or sometimes "verify your mail and newsgroup settings" (thought none of which I changed).

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. I have been advised to use this site to view my mail, www.mail2web.com if all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?script=no click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.
