Hi,

I have just got my Audi A3 back after its first service and noticed that there is a lot of oil on the front of the engine block.

I don't think this is normal, and I can't see anything that could be causing it. Other than the garage overfilled the engine and it poored out.

Any suggestions as to what it could be.

THe car is an Audi A3 1.9 TDie 2009 model

You are correct in that it is not normal.

Was the service done by an Audi dealer? I would assume if you purchased it new it was. Either way, you will have to take it back to be certain nothing is leaking. In the mean time check the oil level often. A leak is inconvenient but if the oil gets too low it can do major damage to the engine.

It is possible some oil ran into the frame when the oil filter was removed and it may just be a matter of it dripping out. Whatever it is, be certain to get it checked out and fixed. And be sure to let the service department management know of the problem and your dissatisfaction with the problem. If they do not do their utmost to remedy the problem, find some place else to do your service.
