Problem with my motorola comcast cable/dvr set up and new Mitsubishi 73733...

...please help? I have the latest Comcast Motorola Cable / DVR box and a new Mits 73 inch 1080P TV and I keep getting a bad picture. I hooked up direct through HDMI and the picture was grainy. I tried going with component cable and got the exact same broken up picture like with the grainy checkerboards on the screen. When I hook up the generic antequated cable wire to the ANT connection on the TV the picture is nearly perfect. All cable wires/signals from Comcast are fine with no issues. The TV works fine and is brand new. I have a PS 3 hooked up through HDMI cable to TV and the picture is flawless. DVDs play perfect. I tried changing the cable box, same problem. Changed wires etc.. Comcast TECH tried to help to no avail and Mits TECHs same thing. Is there some internal menu on the cable box I need to adjust? Anyone who gets this is GOOD.. REWARD for ANYONE WHO GETS THIS... HELP the Superbowl is here....Thanks
