Problem with Samsung Impression, numbers not saving to phone?

My problem is when I save a number on my phone(Samsung Impression), i cannot view it in my address book, but it will show up if i dial the first few numbers into the 'dial' feature. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? The number saves to my SIM card but, it seems, not to the phone itself. This is EXTREMELY annoying, please help! Thank you!
