Check by just connecting the computer to the cable cord. If you get internet then your problem is the router. Thats where my money is that the router is bad.
I got new computer about 10 months ago together with a Belkin router for the Internet connection.
Most of the time when I switch on my computer I can’t connect to the Internet and have to re-set the router which I do by disconnecting it from the mains and then reconnecting it. When I finally get onto the Internet, the connection only seems to last a short time and I have to stop what I am doing and re-set the router.
When I first purchased the computer this happened occasionally but now it is happening more and more (several times a day at the moment) and is getting to be very frustrating.
I connect the router to the computer with ethernet cable.
Any ideas on why I’m having this problem and more importantly, how to solve it would be much appreciated.
Please note that I am not very "up" on technical matters appertaining to computers. If you can word your answer in a way that a computer dunce can understand I would be grateful!
