Problems with mac<->Windows file sharing?

I have a mac with leopard 10.5.1 and a Windows XP PC which i need to share files between. I have tried everything i can find! HELP!!

ps. the whole selecting "windows sharing" in sys preferences->sharing doesnt work in leopard
