I have a 1998 gmc envoy and I took it to precision tune auto care. I was told that the cat converter is rattling. What does this mean? and how much money is it to get it fixed?

I also need the rear transmission seal fixed on my truck what is this for?

I new to this and trying to learn about my truck as much as possible. Thanks!!

ON your 98 gmc,This may be just your heatsheild is loose,But if thats not it then they inside of it is wore out. They can be pricy. On your truck the rear tranny seal keeps the fluid from leaking out around your drive shaft. To replace it you will have to remove the drive shat to get to it.Then use Aflat screwdriver & A small hammer to like chissel it out.Its a preasure fit,use the small hammer to gently tap the new one in till the flat lip is against the tailshaft. Its really verry easy.
