I recently tried installing the sims2 double deluxe on my computer having bought a new graphics card. The game installed perfectly and all looked good, however there seems to be huge problems with the graphics and texture of the game. Objects, houses, and people look too large or scrambled, with random lines and shapes sticking out etc.

At first glance this looked like a graphics card problem. But my graphics card meets all the needed requirements and is brand new with the latest drivers and catalyst controller. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the card and have also uninstalled and reinstalled the sims 2 game.

I tried the 'system requirements lab test' before installing the game and it said that I had more than the required specs. See test result: http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae359/killerandy05/canirunittest.jpg

These are my current system specs:

Intel core 2 duo processor 1.8Ghz
2 GB ddr2 RAM
160GB HDD
ATI Radeon HD4350 Graphics card with 1gb RAM

My monitor is a 22" TV hooked to the graphics card via VGA.

Could anyone give me some advice on what is wrong here? This is very strange and I have never seen a game do it! The game itself runs very fast but obviously the graphics problems make it horrible to play.

This link shows the graphics problem I am experiencing (note the arrows): http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae359/killerandy05/Sims2problem.jpg

I have also tried running the game at lower resolution, graphics settings, turning off shadows, reflection etc, but the problem never goes away. Sometime the land itself looks strange or the buildings and objects do.

Any help is greatly appreciated and the best answer will be awarded appropriately.

Thanks in advance!

Assuming that your monitor is fine, and the display is perfect with all other programs, I would check for possible updates for the game from an official website. If not, it may be the CD you got. It may have corrupted files that make it act this way.

Hope this helps!
