This is my first time using turnitin.com so I decided I would try the student version, writecheck. I got a whopping 21 percent, excluding quotes even though I swear i didn't copy anything.
The assignment was to take notes/summarize the Odyssey and a lot of the things highlighted as plagiarism is like "Odysseus came home" or "they came to the land of the Lotus-eaters" also my lists of Characters, which are just all the characters in order of appearance (which I can't change) as well as my headings, which are just the titles of the chapters!
Could it be because there are so many sites providing summaries of the Odyssey out there that just happened to phrase things similarly to me?
Do you think the teacher will understand? Will I get a zero? What the heck should I do???
