PS3 DivX(AVI) - Playable from USB? How?

I have a few episodes of a TV show I like on my USB and I believe they are DivX (although they have the .avi extension) and was wondering how I can get this to be played back on my PS3?

just connect the usb stick or device to your ps3 and go to the usb device in the ps3. triangle click it and press display all and it should find your videos and press x to watch it.
