PS3 HDMI Help with Samsung 40 inch HDTV?

For Christmas I just received a 40 inch Samsung flat screen HDTV and I have a PS3. I got an HDMI cable, and connected it from the TV to the PS3. Now when I have the regular yellow, red, and white cables in, the PS3 works, but it looks pretty bad. When I try to connect the HDMI cable, a black screen and nothing else appears, and it's really annoying. Any tips on how to make it work? Thanks!
 
You have to set your PS3 to output the video and audio via HDMI cable. Hope this will help you out.
