Ps3 Picking Up Laptop?

I have a laptop and i was wondering how you set it up so that the ps3 picks up the laptop and i can play the music from my laptop on the ps3.. My friend has this done so i know it is possible..

all you have to do is have them both turned on and connected to internet then on your ps3 select search for media devices. if it doesnt find it you need to mess around on your lapops settings to allow it to connect turning of firewall helps but not recomended
