I recently assembled my own custom pc.
MOBOARD: M4A77T/USB3
PSU: THERMALTAKE 600W
PROCESSOR: AMD PHENOM IIx4 955 3.2GHZ
RAM: 8GB G.SKILL
GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GTX 460
1 SSD: 30GB (BOOT DRIVE)
1 HDD: 1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK
__________
I've been having problems while playing Mass Effect 2. The system will suddenly crash and my D drive will disappear (the drive the game is installed on,I have 2 drives). I suspected it might be a PSU issue, but according to calculators I found online I should be okay (im buying a meter anway just to be sure). I also suspected that maybe the HDD is just defective...
However, upon expecting the back of my PSU i discovered that the voltage switch was set to 230. I understand its supposed to be at 115...
I just switched it back to 115....
my question is, could having the switch set to the wrong voltage cause problems like the one I experienced? I'm about to run the game again and see if the problem reoccurs.
